Theresa May keeps saying she wants “the best deal for Britain”.

We already have the best deal as part of the Single Market within the EU.

As part of the EU, the UK has enjoyed stability and success, becoming the fifth largest economy in the world.

As people realise the terrible cost of leaving the EU, both economically and diplomatically, many will question the wisdom of proceeding.

It is possible that a good deal will be negotiated. It is more likely it will not.

That is why Lib Dems say the final deal must be presented to the British people. The decision to accept it or reject it must be the people’s choice
